Children’s Skábmagovat

 

Children’s Skábmagovat Film Festival is held on thursday 23rd of January 2020, 10am to 2pm, in the Sámi Culture Centre Sajos. The day is targeted to children of the Sámi language nests, kindergartens and schools.

 

Film screenings for the under school aged children are held in the Sámi Parliament hall Solju. The program contains short movies, television series like Unna Junná -show , both Sveriges Television’s and Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation’s television productions and children’s self-made short movies – all in Sámi language. In addition to films, childrens’ play time and moments of storytelling are organised for the smallest.

 

The school aged children are offered availability to see dubbed Frozen 2 in Sajos’ Dolla -auditorium. They can also take part in movie and media workshops which subjects are this year e.g. animation and audio production in the spirit of Unna Junná.

Youth’s Skábmagovat

 

Youth’s Skábmagovat Film Festival is held on thursday 23rd of January 2020, 10am to 2pm, in the Sámi Museum and Nature Centre Siida. The day is targeted to junior high school and college students.

 

Youth’s program contains short films as well as well-known japanese anime-film Spirited away dubbed to Northern Sámi. Spirited aways is an animated feature film that won nine Oscars in 2001. The New York Times has selected this film as one of the best films in the world and now it can be seen in Sámi language.
